Independent Film Series


consists of a number of themed screening events that include an ever-changing roster of short and feature length films directed by women that are centered around female protagonists. As curator and host, Rizzo hopes to get this film series screened around the world in a variety of venues - from private, public, non-profit, theatrical to non-traditional.


"All I want is for women and men to get the chance to see these films and begin to see the world through both eyes." says Rizzo, "And, believe me, it's quite a view!"

I believe there is a direct correlation between the way Hollywood and even the independent film community sees women and the way the world sees women ... and treats them. 


Not only that, but since women are avid movie-goers as well as men,  many of these films have a negative affect on the way women feel about themselves and their possibilities. Until we change that, I predict that women’s lives and contributions will continue to be seen as less valuable, than men’s lives.
