"What do you find erotic about the male body?" That's the question I asked of women across the country. Their answers inspired me to pick up a camera and shoot the male body "through their eyes."
Many of the women who contributed are turned on by specific parts of the body - but not the ones the average male might think.
I wanted to prove that women are, indeed, visually erotic — it's just that we have our own way of seeing the men in our lives which may differ from the mostly male-generated images we are bombarded with in the media,
Women tend to view men on a much more personal basis. We're less into the super buff muscle guys and more turned on to the 'power in repose' that a real man's arm or chest gives off. That’s because I discovered that we’re not as turned on by any hot man - we’re are mostly turned on by our man ... and that’s what makes him hot.
Excited by both the women’s words and the photographs, I began combining the two in a series of mixed-media art pieces which were exhibited in a Manhattan gallery and the overwhelming response to the show encouraged me to take these same elements into a fun gift book form - so women could start exploring and sharing their visual turn-ons!
